Nicola Lemay, JD, MBA - Legal Counsel to North Shore InnoVentures.  Ms. Lemay is a partner at Foley Hoag LLP (www.foleyhoag.com), a leading law firm known for its expertise in the cleantech and life sciences sectors.  Foley Hoag serves as General Counsel to North Shore InnoVentures.  Ms. Lemay is a member of Foley Hoag’s Energy Technology and Renewables practice group, advising clients on project structuring matters, including strategies for accessing federal and state tax incentives and other funding sources.  She also advises non-profit organizations with respect to federal and state legal compliance matters.  In her general tax law practice, Ms. Lemay counsels companies and investors in all stages of the business life cycle, including domestic and cross-border business formations, private equity and hedge fund formations, debt and equity financings, and mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and joint ventures involving corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships.  She also advises clients in matters before the Internal Revenue Service and state and local tax authorities, including ruling requests and appeals.  Prior to entering law firm practice, Ms. Lemay was with Ernst & Young LLP, where she specialized in tax planning for domestic and international mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.  Ms. Lemay is a graduate of Carleton College and received her JD and MBA from Columbia University.
