NSIV Member company Atentiv has announced it will launch a game-based treatment for ADHD next year. Their technology combine recent advances in clinical neuroscience, neuropsychology, teaching methodologies, and electroencephalography (EEG). This diagnostic tool uses sensors to detect changes in the brain’s normal pattern of electrical activity.
Atentiv has developed a game-like software application that can be played on a desktop, laptop, tablet or other smart device, using the Internet and a customized headband for a direct, noninvasive, brain-to-computer wireless connection. By using the EEG to monitor the users concentration, gameplay can be stopped the moment the user becomes distracted. The more the user can push aside distractions, the faster they can move their game character through villages, down a stream or past other types of obstacles.
